Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is an indie media franchise created by Scott Cawthon. The same-named video game was released for the first time on August 8, 2014, and the series has since acquired worldwide recognition.

The primary series consists of nine survival horror video games set in locales associated with a fictional family pizza chain named "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza," after its mascot, the animatronic bear Freddy Fazbear. In the majority of games, the player assumes the position of a night-shift worker who must deploy security cameras, lights, doors, and vents to defend themselves against aggressive animatronic beings who inhabit the environments. The lore of the series is gradually revealed via voice recordings, minigames, and Easter eggs hidden inside the games.

In addition to spin-off games and other media, such as a novel trilogy and anthology series, the franchise encompasses an expansive fictional universe. The franchise has an active audience that is recognized for producing fan art and fangames, and paraphernalia for the games is sold abroad.
